Cotton the chinchilla visits Room 18

For Ellie's Star Student teaching she decided to bring in her pet chinchilla and teach us about her and about chinchillas. We loved meeting Cotton and learning some interesting things about her.

 

Ellie wrote:

I am going to tell you about my chinchilla. First I will tell you the food she eats. It's dry bananas, dry apricots, peanuts and grain. She only drinks water. Her habitat is her cage, her bed and the couch. She nocturnal so she sleeps in the day.

Harrison wrote:

Ellie has a pet chinchilla called Cotton. She is 6 and she is cute. She has the ears of a bunny, the whiskers of a cat and she is SUPER soft.

Cotton is really soft and feels like wool. She's really cute and she's got big ears. She looked funny when Ellie tried to take her out of her cage because she didn't want to come out. She's got a soft nose. She climbs all over the cage or in her den/box. On the bottom of the cage there is newspaper and food is hanging from the roof.

When the Chinchilla came to class, we patted it's soft fur. It's nose twitched, as it smelt for food. It hid inside the box, which was in its cage. The chinchilla came this morning but it's going home at morning tea time.
