Kiwiana fun day

We had a FANTASTIC Kiwiana day. We got to dress up as something to do with Kiwiana (a famous person, sports team or other icon), got a Kiwiana temporary tattoo, made a sand saucer, made a fruit/vege creation, enjoyed a sausage in bread with watties sauce for lunch and enjoyed kiwi games (ripper rugby, sack races, obstacle races, egg and spoon, gumboot throw and parachute).

Here are some photos and stories about our Kiwiana fun day.

Our topic this term has been KIWIANA. So today out syndicate had a Kiwiana Day. Everyone brought (for the sand saucer) some flowers, pebbles, and others ornaments to decorate it. Then when people were done they made their vege person. I made a potato snowman with a silver fern on it's head and a carrot as a nose. IT WAS REALLY FUN.

My Life as one of my ducks in my sand saucer By Georgia
So I'm in my sand saucer garden in a nest. I'm with 2 other chicks. I'm the oldest but the shyest. We're all still in our eggs. I'm looking at plants. Our Mum left me in charge. She went to get food for us. I'm always nervous when I'm left in charge in case something goes wrong. I see our Mom in the distance. She's got loads of baby fish in her beak. We're all really hungry, especially me.

My display is what I think I would find on the seabed. The fishing net represents how careless some fisherman can be to some of the sea creatures. The flowers and leaves are the beautiful coral and seaweed.
